- Firms are getting ready for the 'Making Tax Digital' - businesses, self-employed people and landlords will need to submit quarterly updates to HMRC and keep records digitally by 2020.
- Pensioners staying in work drives up retirement income - the proportion of pensioner households in which at least one person works has increased from 12.5% to 20% since 2001.
- Large companies and LLPs will have to publish their payment practices and performances twice a year from April 2017 - it is suggested that this will benefit SMEs who are owed £26.3 billion in overdue payments.
