Tax Return Deadline Approaches - Dont Risk Late Fees

10 January 2019

With the 31st January self-assessment tax return deadline approaching – do get in contact NOW if you haven’t sent us your income and business details.

If you need to send a tax return and you miss the 31st January 2019 deadline for submitting it or paying your bill, you will receive a penalty from H.M. Revenue & Customs.  The penalty is £100 if your tax return is up to 3 months late. You will have to pay more if it is later, or if you are late paying your tax bill. You’ll also be charged interest on late payments.

Click on the HMRC link for further information on penalties for Self-Assessment tax returns.  You can appeal against a penalty if you have a reasonable excuse.

Please note that for partnerships, all partners can be charged a penalty if a partnership tax return is late.
